Options - Central configuration for Frata Tools

Options centralizes the general configuration of Frata Tools inside Revit. From this window you can review license information, adjust appearance, and manage the shared profile paths used by different add-ins.

General Description

The add-in acts as an administration panel for the suite. It lets users define local, company, and project profile folders, review license status, and move profiles between storage levels, including the active Revit model.

Requirements

• Moving or deleting profiles in the Profile Manager affects the actual profile files on disk (or in the model, for Model-level) — there's no separate "Options" undo for these actions beyond the confirmation prompt.

Usage Procedure

1. Open Options from the General panel on the Frata ribbon tab.
2. Under License, review Revit version, license type, activated email, and expiration. Use Activate license the first time, Refresh license to re-check status, or Change account to switch the licensed email.
3. Under Profile Sources, set the Company folder and/or Project folder paths with Browse… so profiles saved there are shared with your team.
4. Press Manage profiles to open the Profile Manager: filter by Addin and Level, then use Move to Local / Company / Project, Push to Model, or Delete on individual profiles.
5. Close the Profile Manager and Options once you're done — changes to profile locations and license state take effect immediately for other addins.

Recommendations

• Use Project-level profiles for settings specific to one project, and Company-level for firm-wide standards — remember Project silently overrides Company when both define a profile with the same name.
• Model-level profiles travel inside the Revit file itself; use Push to Model only for settings that genuinely need to follow the model between machines/users.
• After changing the licensed account with Change account, confirm the new email under the License section before closing, so you know activation actually went through.

Frequently Asked Questions

I got the message "'{0}' already exists in {1}. Overwrite it?" What happens if I confirm? Moving or pushing a profile to a level that already has one with the same name will overwrite the existing one there. Rename the profile first if you want to keep both.

I got the message "No active Revit document is available for model profiles." Why? Push to Model needs an open, active document to store the profile in — open the model you want to push to before using this option.

What's the difference between Company and Project profile folders? Both are shared folders visible to every addin's profile picker. When a profile with the same name exists in both, the Project folder's version wins — use Project for overrides specific to the current job.

After payment, why don't I see my license as active yet? Activation isn't automatic from payment alone — the note in the License section says to email info@frataingenieros.com with the account email used to activate Frata Tools, then use Refresh license once it's confirmed.
