Schedule Exporter - Export schedules to Excel

Schedule Exporter makes it easier to send Revit schedules to Excel files ready for review, coordination, or analysis. The tool reduces manual work by exporting multiple schedules from a single interface.

General Description

The add-in loads the schedules available in the model, lets users filter and batch-select them, and supports either a single workbook export or multiple separate files. At the end, it offers direct access to the output folder.

Key Features

  • Schedule filtering: Type two or more words to quickly narrow down schedules in the project.
  • Batch selection: Select All / Deselect All, then export several schedules in one operation.
  • Two export modes: Single Excel file (each schedule becomes its own sheet in one workbook) or Separate Excel files (one file per schedule).
  • One-click folder access: Open the destination folder directly from the completion dialog.

Requirements

  • None beyond having at least one schedule in the project to export.

Usage Procedure

  1. Open Schedule Exporter from the Export panel on the Frata ribbon tab.
  2. Use the filter box to narrow the list, then check the schedules you want (or use Select All / Deselect All).
  3. Under Export Mode, choose Single Excel file (each schedule = one sheet) or Separate Excel files (one file per schedule).
  4. Press Export Selected Schedules. For a single file you'll be asked for a file name; for separate files you'll be asked for a destination folder.
  5. When the Export completed dialog reports how many schedules were exported, press Open destination folder to jump straight to the result, or Close.

Recommendations

  • Use Single Excel file when you want one document to hand off for review (each tab is a schedule); use Separate Excel files when downstream tools or teammates expect one file per schedule.
  • The filter needs two or more characters/words to narrow the list — for a handful of schedules, Select All is usually faster than filtering.

Frequently Asked Questions

I got the message "Select at least one schedule to export." Why? You pressed Export Selected Schedules without checking any schedule in the list. Check at least one, then export again.

I got an "Export error" message. What should I do? The message includes the underlying error detail — common causes are the destination file being open in Excel already, or no write permission on the chosen folder. Close the file/choose a different folder and retry.

Can I mix Single Excel file and Separate Excel files in the same export? No — Export Mode applies to the whole run. Export the schedules that need one mode, then run the tool again with the other mode for the rest if you need both.
