Delete System
Remove an incorrect or duplicate MEP system definition without losing the pipes, ducts, or equipment it contains.
General Description
Delete System removes the piping, duct/mechanical, or electrical system that your selected elements belong to — without deleting the elements themselves. The physical pipes, ducts, and equipment stay in the model, simply unassigned from that system afterward.
This is useful when a system was created incorrectly, duplicated by accident, or needs to be rebuilt from scratch: instead of deleting and recreating every element, you remove just the system definition and reassign the elements as needed.
Key Features
- Deletes only the MEP system element — piping, ducts, and equipment are left untouched.
- Works from any element connected to the system; you don't need to select the system itself.
- Supports piping, HVAC/mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Resolves every distinct system reachable from your selection in one operation.
Requirements
- At least one element that belongs to a piping, mechanical, or electrical system.
Usage Procedure
- Select one or more elements that belong to the system(s) you want to remove.
- Open Delete System from the MEP panel on the Frata ribbon tab.
- The tool deletes every system reached from your selection; the elements themselves remain in the model.
Recommendations
- If nothing was actually removed, check that your selection includes elements that are genuinely assigned to a system — a warning appears when no system is found.
- Use this before reassigning elements to a corrected or newly created system.
