Fitting Extender

Quickly cap every open connector on a pipe fitting with a short pipe stub, so unfinished routing is easy to spot and measure.

General Description

Fitting Extender adds a 25 cm pipe stub to every unconnected connector of the pipe fittings you select. Each stub is created directly from its own connector, so its diameter and piping system always match — you don't need to configure anything before running it. Connectors that are already joined to another element are left untouched.

It's a quick way to visualize which sides of a fitting still need routing, or to leave a short, easy-to-find placeholder segment while you finish a layout.

Key Features

  • Works on the current selection, or prompts you to pick pipe fittings if nothing is selected.
  • Adds a stub only to connectors that are actually open — connected ones are skipped.
  • Each stub matches its own connector's diameter and piping system automatically.
  • Continues through the rest of the batch if one connector can't be extended, instead of stopping the whole operation.

Requirements

  • At least one pipe fitting, either pre-selected or picked when prompted.
  • A default pipe type must be defined in the project (Revit uses this to create the stub).

Usage Procedure

  1. Select one or more pipe fittings, or leave nothing selected.
  2. Open Fitting Extender from the MEP panel on the Frata ribbon tab.
  3. If nothing was pre-selected, pick the pipe fittings when prompted.
  4. The tool creates a 25 cm stub at every open connector on the selected fittings.

Recommendations

  • Use it right after placing fittings to immediately see which connectors still need a real pipe run.
  • If a connector can't be extended (for example, the fitting has no valid level), that connector is simply skipped — the rest of the batch still completes.
