Elbow Creator
Add a branch pipe at a chosen direction, angle, and distance from an existing pipe, without manually placing and rotating a fitting.
General Description
Elbow Creator generates a branch pipe segment starting from a point along a selected pipe, in the direction you choose (right, left, up, or down), at a 45° or 90° angle, and at the distance you specify. Configure the branch once in the tool's window, then pick one or more pipes to apply it to.
Key Features
- Branch direction: right, left, up, or down relative to the pipe.
- Choice of 45° or 90° branch angle.
- Configurable branch distance, shown in your project's own length units.
- Apply the same configuration to multiple pipes in one operation.
Requirements
- At least one pipe to branch from.
Usage Procedure
- Open Elbow Creator from the MEP panel on the Frata ribbon tab.
- Choose the branch direction (right, left, up, or down) and angle (45° or 90°).
- Enter the branch distance.
- Press Execute, then pick the pipe or pipes to create the branch on.
Recommendations
- This tool's branch-direction geometry has not been verified against every possible pipe orientation — check the result carefully on a near-vertical riser before relying on it for that case.
- Use the same configuration across a batch selection when you need identical branches on several pipes at once.
