Move Connect

Join two nearby MEP elements by moving and connecting only the second one, without dragging it into place by hand.

General Description

Move Connect joins two elements at their closest free connectors: the first element you pick stays fixed, and the second one is moved (and, if needed, rotated) so its nearest open connector meets the fixed element's nearest open connector, then the two are joined.

A pipe being moved is only translated, never rotated, so its slope and direction are preserved exactly. A fitting or accessory is rotated to face the fixed connector and then moved into place. Anything already connected to the moving element — downstream pipes or fittings — is left for Revit's own regeneration to stretch and follow, the same way it behaves when you drag a connected element by hand.

Requirements

Two selected elements, each with at least one free (unconnected) connector.
The two elements must not already be connected to each other.

Usage Procedure

Select the fixed element first, then the element you want to move.
Open Move Connect from the MEP panel on the Frata ribbon tab.
The second element is moved and joined to the first at their nearest connectors.

Recommendations

If the join fails, confirm both elements actually have a free connector available, and that they aren't already connected to each other.
Use this to close small gaps between routed elements instead of manually dragging and eyeballing the connection.
