Pipe Aligner

Line up one or more pipes with a reference pipe's centerline, without changing their direction, length, or slope.

General Description

Pipe Aligner repositions each target pipe so its centerline touches the reference pipe's centerline, keeping the target pipe's own direction and length exactly as they were. Pipes are often sloped, so the two centerlines frequently don't cross in the same plane — the tool finds the true closest alignment between them regardless.

Only the target pipe itself moves; anything already connected to it is left for Revit's own connector-driven regeneration to follow, the same way it behaves when you move a connected pipe by hand. Pipe Aligner only repositions the pipe's line — it does not create a connection between the reference and target pipes. Use Move Connect if you also need them joined.

Requirements

• One reference pipe and at least one target pipe to align to it.

Usage Procedure

1. Open Pipe Aligner from the MEP panel on the Frata ribbon tab.
2. Pick the reference pipe.
3. Pick one or more target pipes to align.
4. Each target pipe is repositioned to touch the reference pipe's centerline; a summary reports any pipes that were skipped and why.

Recommendations

• A target pipe that's already directly connected to the reference pipe is skipped, since repositioning it could break that connection — use Move Connect if you actually want them joined.
• Parallel pipes have no unique alignment point and are skipped as well; this is expected, not an error.
