AutoStirrups - Automatic stirrup distribution

AutoStirrups automates stirrup generation in concrete structural elements using either a parametric setup or an existing stirrup from the model. The tool speeds up detailing and reduces manual variation between similar elements.

General Description

The add-in lets users choose between automatic creation and distribution based on a model stirrup template. It includes bar, cover, offset, spacing, and distribution-range settings, plus optional writing of output values into model parameters.

Key Features

  • Two working sources: Can create stirrups automatically or use a stirrup already in the model.
  • Bar and cover setup: Adjusts bar type, hooks, and cover values.
  • Spacing modes: Supports uniform spacing, start plus center, and custom zone layouts.
  • Custom distribution range: Lets users define start and end points of the reinforced span.
  • Parameter writing: Can store distribution or layer data in element parameters.

Usage Procedure

  1. Open AutoStirrups and choose whether to work in automatic mode or from a model stirrup.
  2. Configure bars, cover, hooks, offsets, and spacing mode.
  3. If needed, define the custom range and output parameters.
  4. Run the tool and select the target structural element.
  5. Review the final message to confirm how many stirrups were created.
