Rebar Toggle - Fast reinforcement visibility control

Rebar Toggle lets users switch reinforcement visibility in the active view to support coordination, review, and model readability. It is a utility designed to move quickly between clean views and detailed reinforcement views.

General Description

The add-in works on rebar visibility within the active view. Depending on whether rebars are currently shown or hidden, it helps users toggle their visibility quickly to improve concrete reading or focus on reinforcement layouts.

Key Features

  • Show All Rebars / Hide All Rebars: Toggles every reinforcement bar in the active view in one click.
  • Show Rebars / Hide Rebars (by host): Select concrete elements and toggle only their associated reinforcement.
  • View-scoped: All actions apply to the active view only, so other views are unaffected.

Requirements

  • Works on the active view; switch to the view you want to affect before running a command.

Usage Procedure

  1. Open the Rebar Toggle split button from the Structure panel on the Frata ribbon tab.
  2. To affect every bar in the view, choose Show All Rebars or Hide All Rebars.
  3. To affect only specific elements, choose Show Rebars or Hide Rebars, then select the concrete elements whose reinforcement you want to toggle.
  4. Review the result directly in the active view.

Recommendations

  • Use the "All" commands for a full clean/detailed switch of the active view; use the by-host commands when you only need to focus on a few elements.
  • Repeat the toggle as needed — it doesn't change any model geometry or parameters, only view-level visibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

I got the message "No visible rebars found in the current selection." What does that mean? You ran a Hide command, but the concrete elements you selected have no visible reinforcement in the active view to hide (it may already be hidden, or the elements have no associated rebar).

I got the message "No hidden rebars found." What does that mean? You ran a Show command, but there's no hidden reinforcement to reveal — either for the whole view (Show All) or for the concrete elements you selected (Show Rebars).

Does hiding rebar with this tool affect other views or the model itself? No — it only changes visibility in the active view, the same as manual Revit visibility overrides. No geometry or parameters are modified.
